NBA: Ray Allen leaves the Boston Celtics and joins LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in search of a second ring.

After much thought, Ray Allen finally decided to end his time in the Celtics and try to win a ring with the defending champion Miami Heat.

Allen rejected twice as much money, a no-transfer clause and the familiarity he had in Boston to join LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in search of a second ring.

It is believed that the attempt to transfer to Memphis at the trade deadline in March had left discontent Allen, and a poor relationship with Rajon Rondo was a key factor in the decision of the veteran.

Allen signed a three years by the Mid-Level Exception mini (3.09 million dollars annually).

Ray Allen came to the Celtics in June 2007 along with Glen Davis in a trade that sent Jeff Green, Wally Szczerbiak and Delonte West to back then, SuperSonics. In Boston, Ray Allen averaged 16.7 points per game in his stay in Boston, being instrumental in the title of 2008 and the end of 2010.While in Boston, during the 2009 playoffs in the first round, Ray Allen broke the record for points in a game franchise with 51 in the sixth game against Bulls in the 2010-2011 season, the Lakers before February 10 Reggie Miller beat the triple scorer in NBA history.
